Baby & Toddler Leg Warmers

I thought I would share a tutorial on making baby leg warmers from an existing pair of adult or childrens colorful socks. Follow Love Bug Living tutorial and keep your baby's knees protected, warm or even as a cute accessory to be used under skirts and tutus.     Smashed Peas and Carrots also has a cute tutorial on repurposing a child's dress and taking the sleeves an making leg warmers out of them. Both are very cute an involve minimal sewing.

Minnie Mouse Crochet Hat Pattern

I thought this was too cute not to share. I definitely want to learn how to crochet now after seing this adorable Minnie Mouse Crochet Hat Pattern from Craftsy. The designer, Lizziee has several pdf patterns listed on the site and what's great is that they're only $3 for each pattern. Her reviews on all her patterns are good and that's why I've featured her on here. Craftsy has several other types of crafts and even have food craft projects such as baking artisan breads and fondant cake recipes. These projects are a lot more expensive and are listed under the online classes portion of the website. Check this Knight Helmet Crochet Pattern, also from Craftsy, designed by Martina Gardner.

Reading Eggs, Oh How We Miss You

Our Reading Eggs Journey ended this past summer and I thought the kids were doing well without it. They're reading, spelling and comprehending what they are reading. I give credit to my masterful teaching on the subject. lol. Actually I give a  lot of the credit to Reading Eggs. Even though we've been doing well without it, the kids actually ask me from time to time when we're going to get started again. I've decided that the time to get started is now. We no longer qualify for the free trials. We've used up our trial coupons, but if you're ready to see a jump in your childs interest for reading, then I highly recommend starting on their free two week trial. It's free, and I can almost guarantee your child will actually enjoy the lessons. :)

Amazon Kindle Free Homeschool Related Books

I came across a couple of Amazon Kindle titles that are free! I'm not sure if these titles are always free, but as of now they are. I would jump on it! I downloaded the free amazon kindle reading app for my android phone. They also have the app for your pc, ipad, iphone and of course if you already have the kindle, then you're all set up to download these free apps. Once you have it downloaded, go to amazon from your phone or even the computer and click on buy it now. It takes 5 seconds for it to go straight to your phone. I love it, because I can read the kids a bedtime story like the one below straight from my phone. :) Go to amazon.com and type in the search box free kindle books for kids, and you'll get so many free titles. I don't believe there's a limit... so far I've downloaded 10! Now I'm tempted to get a kindle. :)   Here's a few others that seem worth downloading...

Reading Eggs Internet Reading Program

I just thought I would share this deal... My kids have been using Reading Eggs for the past month. The kids love to read, but love reading on Reading Eggs more. There's hundreds of books to choose from and after reading each book, there's a short quiz to test their reading comprehension skills. You collect golden eggs that they can then use to purchase collecting cards, play educational games and even buy cool furniture and decorations to  personalize their room. There's also a section on spelling, dictionary skills, putting words in alphabetical order and a lot more. What's great about this program is that everything is tracked and you can see their progress. I think it's a great stand alone program to teach all the essential language arts. The only thing you cannot practice is handwriting. If you have another language arts curriculum you're following, this can be a great supplement or something one child can work on while you work hands on with your other c

Felt Crafts For Kids

I love working with felt! It's probably the easiest fabric to work with. I remember making Barbie clothes and mini pillows as a little girl and now my little girl is asking for needle and thread to sew her very own creations. It's a lot of fun to work with and there's tons of cool projects out there. I came across Better Home and Garden's website and saw this darling little post on kids crafts using felt.
